Two ADG designed parks win Leading Edge Awards from the World Waterpark Association

Aquatic Development Group (ADG) announces that two of its premier water park projects have won the World Waterpark Association’s Leading Edge Award for 2019.

SLIDESHOW: The Kartrite

THE KARTRITE RESORT & INDOOR WATERPARK, designed and built by ADG, in partnership with Architectural Design Consultants, Inc (ADCI), opened in May 2019. The Kartrite was built on the Resorts World campus located in the Catskill Mountains region of upstate NY, which also includes a casino and world class golfing facilities. The $150 million Kartrite spans across two acres of year-round indoor waterpark space and features a boutique-style luxury hotel with 324 designer guest suites.

Greg Silver, President & CEO of EPR Properties who owns the Kartrite, was quick to point out praise for ADG. “As you can see from this beautiful property, as well as with their portfolio of other successful projects, we know we made the right choice in choosing ADG as our partner. They are first class, best in the country, and that’s the quality of a product we were looking to deliver here at the Kartrite.”

ADG and ADCI designed the Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Waterpark with a unique style designed to stand apart from their competition and capitalize on their beautiful mountain location and bring the outdoors in through the strategic use of light and space that is reflected throughout the hotel and water park.

From the spacious, upscale lobby with views of the natural outdoor playground, to the innovative design and location of restaurants and adult and family-focused amenities, to the light and bright indoor water park with copious amount of lush landscaping, premium deck space and cabanas, and a state-of-the-art, barrel-shaped Texlon® ETFE transparent roof that ensures a balmy 80 degrees every day of the year, the Kartrite has proven to be a unique example of innovation in design for indoor waterpark hotels.

SLIDESHOW: Island H20 LIVE!

ISLAND H2O LIVE! was designed and built by ADG and is Central Florida’s newest waterpark. This tropical- themed water park is situated on 11.5 acres and home to over 20 different experiences for guests of all ages to enjoy.

Key attractions featured in ADG’s design include a 1,300 ft long lazy river with a 500 sqft beach entry, water coasters, family raft rides, plus kid-friendly active play areas, as well as a gated, adults-only pool escape.

The center piece of the park features a 24,000 sqft wave pool powered by ADG’s Wavetek® wave system. Designed with entertainment in mind, ADG designed the pool not only with show-stopping waves but added an innovative center stage area for live performances and an oversized LED screen to cap off the space.

In addition to multitudes of exciting rides, Island H2O is the first park to provide guests with the ability to customize and share their experiences through the incorporation of interactive technology features throughout the park.

Copious amounts of beach themed branded elements and lush landscaping put the finishing touches on this waterpark, ensuring an optimal guest experience that stands out in the Orlando market.
