Aquatic Development Group overseeing design/build of $90 million Soaky Mountain Waterpark in Tennessee

Aquatic Development Group (ADG), has been contracted as the design/builder of the brand new Soaky Mountain Waterpark slated to open Summer 2020 in Sevierville, TN.

The new $90 million waterpark is currently under construction and officially broke ground in July 2019. The Soaky Mountain waterpark is projected to bring 100,000 new visitors to Sevier County and increase annual nightly stays to the region. Estimated annual park attendance is expected to be 400,000 visitors.

This “mountain-modern” themed waterpark will be home to over 11 innovative water attractions designed for guests of all ages and thrill levels.

Soaky Mountain Waterpark will feature two main wave attractions: a massive, 35,000 square foot wave pool capable of generating waves up to 6 feet high and a winding wave river spanning an area of 24,000 square feet, both designed by ADG and powered by ADG’s WaveTek® wave systems.

In addition to these anchor attractions the waterpark will be home to a heavily themed kid’s play-and-spray feature, a kid’s activity pool with slides, an ADG Adventure Lagoon ride featuring a Wibit® water obstacle course, a flat-water cabana pool, a double FlowRider® surf ride and four large slide complexes that will include family raft rides, body slides, mat racers and more.

According to Joe Eck, COO of Wilderness Resorts and Waterparks, “Soaky Mountain Waterpark is going to be an amazing destination for families with children of all ages to enjoy. It will feature some of the most popular, thrilling and unique water attractions available, and it will all be outdoors in a beautiful mountain-modern park setting.”

The opening date for the new Soaky Mountain Waterpark is slated for summer 2020. Once operating regularly it will be open to the public daily mid-May through August, with additional select days through mid-September.
