Air Force Museum Presents First Aviation Film Festival in New Digital 3D Giant Screen Theater

45855_556040851081129_403450660_nDayton, OH — The Air Force Museum Foundation announced today the full roster of films and filmmakers presenting screenings at its First Annual Reel Stuff Film Festival of Aviation, April 12-14.   Fourteen producers, directors, cinematographers and others from the film industry will present twelve screenings over the three-day cinematic celebration of flight that also serves as the grand re-opening of the Air Force Museum Theatre’s newly renovated digital giant screen theater.   Its nearly one million dollar upgrade features state-of-the-art dual 4K digital projectors, 7.1 plus surround sound, a new 80’ wide screen, new seating, carpeting and a stage, making it the finest and newest venue of its kind in the midwest.

To purchase tickets and passes call (937) 253-4629 or online at www.airforcemuseum.com.  General admission tickets for individual daytime screenings are $8 per person, and $15 per person for evening shows, which includes Sunday’s Top Gun 3D show.  Full day discount passes, good for all screenings on that day, are also available; $35 for Friday, $35 for Saturday, and $25 for Sunday.  Full Festival passes are available for $90, providing admission for one person to each screening Friday through Sunday.

Corporate screening sponsorship enables event proceeds go to the Air Force Museum Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports the museum’s year-round educational programs and expansion.  The Boeing Company is sponsor of the WWII-era Memphis Belledocumentary presented by the late director’s daughter, Catherine Wyler.  The Wright State University Foundation is sponsor of The Restorers, the pilot episode of a public television series co-presented by Wright State Motion Pictures program alumnus and director, Adam White, and producer Kara Martinelli.  Also announced were Southwest Airlines as the “Official Airline” of Reel Stuff, and the Hilton Garden Inn/Beavercreek, the festival’s headquarters hotel.  According to the festival’s director, Ron Kaplan, additional Reel Stuff sponsors and donors will be announced soon.

Reel Stuff’s sponsors’ will enjoy exclusive benefits such as tickets to the foundation’s “Opening Night of the Stars” red carpet reception April 11.   The invitation-only event features the Midwest premier of First in Flight, a 30-minute dramatization about the Wright Brothers presented by Tara Tucker, producer, and Brandon Hess, director.  They will be accompanied by Stephen Wright, the great grand-nephew of Orville and Wilbur Wright.  Ms. Tucker is the daughter of acclaimed air show performer and National Aviation Hall of Fame enshrinee, Sean D. Tucker.   “Those who miss the premier of First in Flight need not despair,” said Mary Bruggeman, Director of Theatre Operations.  “The producer and director will co-present this extraordinary film a second time for filmgoers on April 12.”  Bruggeman explained due to surging national interest in the rare opportunity to view Top Gun 3D on a giant screen, a second showing was added on Sunday, April 14 to close the festival.  Reservations have been received from people from as far as Colorado, California and Wisconsin, said Bruggeman.
