May 17, 2013 Joe Kleiman News, Theme Parks Comments Off on Angry Birds Sling Into Lightwater Valley
Ripon, UK (May 15, 2012) /PRWEB/– Lightwater Valley today announced the due date of their new arrivals; the ever popular Angry Birds are due to hatch at the Lightwater Valley theme park on Saturday 25th May, after months of labour and over £1 million of investment.
The Park will offer activity-based play combined with digital, interactive elements and unlike the main theme park which opens for a season, Angry Birds will be available throughout the year.
Proud father Mark Bainbridge, General Manager of Lightwater Valley, can’t wait to welcome the new arrivals, “We’ve been planning for this day for quite a while now and it’s very exciting to know they will soon be here in person. Following on from the announcement that we were expecting the Angry Birds, the support from the public has been amazing, they are certainly proving to be popular little creatures that clearly have many fans out there.”
The Activity Park will be complemented by an Angry Birds retail store selling a wide range of Angry Birds official merchandise from pencils to back-packs to plush toys.
Janine Ross, Head of Marketing at the Park and ‘mother to be’ said, “As we are only the second home in the UK for the Angry Birds the interest has been phenomenal. I personally can’t wait till 25th May and we can finally meet Red Bird, Terence, the Piggies, Green Bird, Yellow Bird and all the family! It’s been a smooth process so far, we just hope they love it here as much as we do but how can you not love a traditional Yorkshire welcome!”
As only the second Angry Birds Activity Park in the UK, the site will cover over 30,000 square feet and represents a total investment of over £1 million. The Angry Birds Activity Park has been designed and manufactured by Lappset UK. A leading provider of play equipment, the Kettering-based company launched the Angry Birds concept last year which creates a new healthy way for the whole family to experience the Angry Birds theme.
Lightwater Valley will be celebrating all things Angry Birds the weekend of 25th / 26th May.
