A skating rink of synthetic ice made from high-tech plastic will be open all six days from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in front of the Capital One Stage beneath the majestic oaks at Audubon Zoo.
Snofari Adventure holiday activities are included with Zoo admission, but “ice” skating will require an additional ticket that can be purchased at the Zoo front gate or at the Endangered Species Carousel ticket booth inside the Zoo.
Skating tickets are $5 for Audubon members and $7 for non-members and are good for one-time access to the rink. Children under two years of age are free. Ticket sales will close daily at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are not available online.
Skaters will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. The wait time for skaters will be determined by the number of people in line at any given moment.
All skaters will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to stepping onto the rink. Guardians must sign for minors (anyone under 18 years of age).
The “ice” is made from an eco-friendly, recyclable acrylic material that enables a skate blade to glide as smoothly as if it were on real ice.
To add to the festivities, a DJ will be on hand spinning holiday tunes and a sleigh will be available for photos.
An added attraction this year will be SnowGlobe Live!, a 15-foot-tall replica of the popular holiday collectible. Adorned with holiday decor, the globe’s interior will accommodate up to six people for photos.
