First of its Kind Event Brings Joint Conference for AZA and IMATA to Orlando

Orlando, FL, USA — The Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and International Marine Animal Trainers’ Association (IMATA) are partnering to develop a co-located Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.  Taking place Sept 12-18, this first of its kind event will be the largest conference in IMATA’s history and is expected to draw more than 2,500 participants.  AZA President and CEO Jim Maddy stated: “Partnering with similarly focused professional organizations is a vital way to expand the work of both organizations and provides valuable opportunities to advance professional networking and engagement among organizations.”

The AZA/IMATA Annual Conference will be held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort located in Orlando, Florida and will be hosted by Walt Disney World Resort and SeaWorld Orlando.

Combining the conference for 2014 offers the collective attendees many opportunities to learn from one another, collaborate, and enjoy the talents of colleagues.  Presentations, events, and the Exhibit Hall will provide valuable crossover for all.  IMATA enthusiasts will experience the intimate and unique environment expected at an IMATA conference, and will also have the flexibility to attend both IMATA and AZA presentations, discussions, and an Exhibit Hall with access to hundreds of products and service providers.
