BRC Imagination Arts to Receive Thea Award for Korea’s AMOREPACIFIC Story Garden

0

Burbank, CA, USA /BUSINESS WIRE/ — BRC Imagination Arts, an experience design agency that turns brands into destinations, has received the Themed Entertainment Association’s Thea Award for Outstanding Corporate Brand-land for The Story Garden at the AMOREPACIFIC Beauty Campus in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The award honors creative excellence in theme parks, museums, and corporate attractions.

The Story Garden by AMOREPACIFIC opened in September 2013 and reinvents the concept of the factory tour and brand center. It immerses visitors in the philosophy that beauty is a gift that has the power to transform the world. Studded with fine-art installations, media experiences, contemplative spaces and blended musical effects, The Story Garden uses a predominantly non-verbal approach to tell the emotional story of AMOREPACIFIC’s journey. It began with humble origins in a mother’s kitchen, and became a symbol of hope and opportunity for the post-war generations of women in South Korea. Today, it’s one of the most successful skincare companies in the world today.

The 10,000 square foot multi-level Story Garden is surrounded by a lush botanical garden and greenhouse, reflecting the company’s commitment to nature and plant-based ingredients. The surroundings immediately convey to visitors a company deeply rooted in nature’s wisdom. Individual rooms interpret the company’s core values as physical spaces, creating a deeper connection between visitors and the brand.

The Story Garden was originally intended for only a limited audience of the company’s employees and beauty consultants; the tour experience has become so popular it now welcomes guests six days a week, with limited public tours also available.

“The Story Garden was a labor of love and an invigorating challenge for our team,” said Christian Lachel, Executive Creative Director and Vice President at BRC Imagination Arts. “The AMOREPACIFIC brand holds tremendous cultural and historical significance in South Korea, but it also appeals to people in China, Japan and other parts of the world. Our opportunity was to bring the company’s values and history to life in an emotionally evocative and universally accessible way. The result is a deeply touching experience that honors the company’s legacy. We hope it will inspire visitors for years to come.”

The Story Garden project has achieved additional recognitions and honors for its design and social impact on visitors. It received an International Design Award, Bronze Award for Interior Design in the categories of professional, conceptual and other interior design.

The Story Garden also received an Environments Finalist award from the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) sponsored by IDSA, Core77, Fast Company and more.

And earlier this year The Story Garden received the Silver SPARK Design Award for Experience Design.

The Thea Awards were created by the Themed Entertainment Association to help realize a key mission of the association: bringing recognition to achievement, talent and personal excellence within the themed entertainment industry. From a modest beginning in 1994, the Thea Awards have become internationally recognized as a symbol of excellence. Recipients will be honored at a black-tie gala on March 21, 2015, at the Disneyland Hotel, Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California.

BBC Programs and Characters to Play Key Role at London Paramount Entertainment Resort Under Newly Announced Development Agreement
It is outstanding to be working with a globally recognised brand with such a rich, respected history. We see London Paramount as a pioneer in the delivery of an outstanding partnership entertainment experience.” — Mike Bartok, Executive Vice President Parks & Resorts, Paramount Pictures
London, UK (December 10, 2014) — A landmark agreement has been struck today that could see some of BBC Worldwide’s biggest brands feature prominently in a new entertainment resort near London supported by leading Hollywood studio Paramount Pictures.

London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH), the company behind the multi-billion pound London Paramount Entertainment Resort in North Kent, has signed a Development Agreement with the commercial arm of the BBC to feature their intellectual property at the resort alongside leading Hollywood studio Paramount Pictures.

The partnership agreement would mean that some of the best loved and celebrated programmes and characters to appear on British TV and radio in recent decades could be brought to life at a new world-class entertainment destination.

The Development Agreement is the first step towards a formal partnership between BBC Worldwide and the London Paramount Entertainment Resort, which is currently earmarked for an Easter 2020 opening date. LRCH already has a separate agreement in place with Paramount Pictures, the oldest major Hollywood studio in existence, which will allow the resort to access over 3,000 films including iconic movies such as Mission: Impossible, Star Trek, The Godfather and The Italian Job.

David Testa, Director of LRCH, said:

“We are delighted to bring the world’s leading public service broadcaster on board this project. The BBC has played an instrumental role in shaping the British entertainment industry for nearly a century, creating some of the most iconic and cherished characters on TV and radio. It seems only right therefore that its programmes will be present at the new London Paramount Entertainment Resort, which will combine the glamour of Hollywood with the best of British culture.”

Stephen Davies, Director Live Events, BBC Worldwide, said:

“We’re always looking for opportunities to extend fans’ enjoyment of their favourite shows and the idea behind this resort is a really exciting way of celebrating the very special place the BBC has in British culture.”

Guests at Disney California Adventure Park will be able to meet Anna and Elsa in a new location, sing along with the “Frozen” soundtrack, play in the snow, meet Olaf the snowman and “chill out” at a nighttime, family dance party.

A sneak peek of many of the live experiences begins Saturday, Dec. 20, in Disney California Adventure and a new “Frozen”-themed show opens in Disneyland Park Jan. 7, 2015. “Frozen Fun” continues for a limited time at Disney California Adventure. For specific dates, along with places to see Anna and Elsa beyond “Frozen Fun,” guests may visit Disneyland.com.

Anna and Elsa will relocate Dec. 20 from their Fantasyland greeting area in Disneyland to a roomier new home, “Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome,” inside the Disney Animation building in Disney California Adventure Park. Additional new “Frozen” experiences in the Hollywood Land area of the park include ”For the First Time in Forever” – A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration in the newly dubbed Crown Jewel Theatre; the immersive “Olaf’s Snow Fest” featuring snow play, music, food and Olaf himself, and an after-dark offering “Freeze the Night! A Family Dance Party.”

“Frozen Fun” Sneak Peek at Disney California Adventure Park

“Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome” provides an elegant new location for Anna and Elsa to receive visitors in the Disney Animation building in Hollywood Land. (Note: The Anna and Elsa meeting location in Disneyland Park will close at the end of the day on Dec. 19.) The colorful and varied animation experience already on display in the attraction’s lobby will feature new scenes that pay tribute to Arendelle and the world of “Frozen.” As they did in the previous location in Fantasyland, guests will utilize the Return Time Ticket to meet the characters, avoiding long wait times by securing a reservation time to return to the Royal Welcome. Elsewhere in the Disney Animation building, guests at the Animation Academy will be asked “Do You Want to Draw a Snowman?” – offering an Olaf drawing experience with an added Marshmallow-drawing class.

“For the First Time in Forever – A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” transforms the Muppet*Vision 3D Theatre into the welcoming Crown Jewel Theatre of Arendelle, where Anna, Elsa and Kristoff take part in a comedic retelling of their story that features popular songs from the film. Two Arendellian Historians, acting as hosts, lead the festivities, with the “Frozen” characters making memorable appearances throughout. Some of the favorite musical sequences (and lyrics) are shown on large screens to make sure everybody enjoys all the fun.

“Olaf’s Snow Fest” takes place next door to the Crown Jewel Theatre in Stage 17, which is transformed into a charming castle courtyard reminiscent of Arendelle. Music and lighting bring to life an immersive wintry environment for guests to meet and share a warm hug with Olaf. Kids of all ages will have fun in a giant play area with real snow where they are encouraged to build snow creations and zip down a snow slide. Guests who wish to observe the icy fun will have a nearby viewing area. A traveling musical duo, The Tubadors, will celebrate the tales of Arendelle in storytelling and song while, on their own stage, The Frolicking Fjords will present arrangements of Arendelle-themed tunes. Guests may enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, complete with snowman marshmallows, and decorate their own Olaf cookie, making memories that will warm their hearts.

A Family Dance Party” invites guests to “chill out” in a family friendly setting inspired by the icy environment of “Frozen.” Created for all ages, this interactive party celebrates “all things Frozen” with exciting music, games, photo opportunities, drinks and snacks, an ice sculptor, and plenty of interactive moments, all infused with a super-cool crackle of exhilarating energy.

Winter Celebration Continues at Disneyland Park and Downtown Disney

On Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, “Frozen Fun” celebrates its official launch with all the fun in Disney California Adventure, while a new “Frozen”-themed show opens in Disneyland at Fantasy Faire. The team of Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones will put their unique spin on the “Frozen” story as they adapt it for the Royal Theatre. As expected, they present the tale in their own inimitable way, with a fun-filled, fast-paced retelling of the story featuring their own wacky performances in key roles, along with Anna, Elsa and the Faire Maidens.

Additionally on Jan. 7, 2015, “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” resumes daily performances with Anna, Elsa and Olaf once again making a “pre-parade” appearance on their own special float.

Guests at Downtown Disney join the fun at “Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink” and the Downtown Disney Winter Village, in operation now through February 22, 2015. The Downtown Disney Winter Village chalets offer a variety of food, clothing and gift items. The 50-by-90-foot “Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink” features colorful graphics outlining the “Frozen” story and characters, with Olaf whimsically commanding the rink that bears his name.
