Barco to Introduce Next Generation Simulation Product at I/ITSEC 2016

Barco, a global leader in visualization technology, will reveal its latest innovations in visualization and audio designed to power advanced simulation and training applications at I/ITSEC 2016. Visitors can see Barco’s new solutions in action at the world’s largest modeling, simulation, and training conference from November 28-December 2 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

Barco has a long, successful history of engineering purpose-built solutions for simulated environments, having focused on projectors that offer ultra-high resolution, ruggedness, and seamless integration into a variety of applications. In fact, Barco was recently recognized for its innovation in simulation by Military Training International magazine, receiving a Top Training & Simulation award for advanced technologies targeted to the industry.

Now, with the evolution of its world-class audio technologies developed for immersive sound for simulation, Barco solutions deliver a highly realistic experience that elevates military training immersiveness to a whole new dimension.

“By harnessing our expertise in both ultra-high resolution projection and high-fidelity audio, we have further enhanced the sensory dimension of training applications to deliver a truly lifelike experience,” comments Dave Fluegeman, Vice President Simulation at Barco. “This allows customers to accomplish more training tasks in a high-fidelity simulated environment, which increases overall training effectiveness and safety while reducing costs through less use of the actual equipment.”

Barco to introduce next generation simulation projector

Officially launching on the first day of I/ITSEC, Barco will exhibit the newest member to its 4K UHD laser phosphor projector family – featuring extreme robustness, longer lifetime, and ultra-high image quality – integrating the projectors into a cylindrical dome screen setup provided by 3D Perception, using CAE’s Medallion-6000 IG to show off its 4K UHD capabilities.

In addition, attendees will be able to experience close to 50 F-series projectors throughout the show floor among several partner booths, including CAE (booth #1533), Immersive Display Solutions, Inc. (booth #1281), Air National Guard Trainer Development (booth #1080) and 3D Perception (booth #867), demonstrating the breadth and scalability of our simulation projector line.

Immersive audio enhances realism

Furthermore, Barco will also demonstrate how truly immersive sound can elevate the training experience of trainees at I/ITSEC. Barco’s IOSONO CORE immersive audio processor creates a custom sound field that is perfectly synchronized with the on-screen action in real-time, creating an unparalleled realistic immersive experience. Powered with a built-in VR capability, it helps elevate the complete sensory experience for trainees by taking them beyond their visual cues, enabling them to process sound as it is meant to be heard. Because Barco’s IOSONO CORE uses both real-time rendering and generation of sounds to position them where they normally would be relative to the trainee’s position, operators can receive the audio cues needed to spot objects even when they are not in visual range.

Visitors can participate in an immersive audio experience using Barco’s IOSONO CORE audio processor with built-in audio generator WwisePro from Audiokinetic and visual database and integration tools from VT Mäk. Content will be projected using Barco’s F50 WQXGA projectorwith EN57 lens onto a Da-Lite screen.
