BRC Imagination Arts Goes Large Scale with Times Square Miniature World Attraction

New York, NY, USA — Gulliver’s Gate, “the most technically advanced and interactive miniature world experience anywhere,” announces the hiring of the internationally-acclaimed experience design agency BRC Imagination Arts to help design and create the 49,000 square foot attraction in the heart of Manhattan’s Times Square.

Gulliver’s Gate previously retained the design firm The Hettema Group to develop the initial concept for the attraction. BRC will build on the original concept and will help oversee all aspects of the design and creative production process, from strategy to installation.

Gulliver’s Gate will be built in a two-story space within the former New York Times Building, which is currently owned by Kushner Companies. The miniature wonderland will have more than 300 built-to-scale models of scenes from around the universe – from Manhattan to the Panama Canal, from Antarctica to Mars, and from Rio to Rome to Jerusalem. The football field-sized train set layout will also feature more than one thousand trains, planes that can take off and land, cars, boats, ships and spacecraft – many operated by visitors via remote control and a specially designed interactive smartphone app.

BRC has more than 30 years of experience in the design, creation and production of branded attractions, museums, visitor centers and world expo pavilions for a wide range of iconic brands and cultural institutions. Clients have included Universal Studios, the Kennedy Space Center, Cirque Du Soleil, Nickelodeon, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Coca-Cola. The company has received more than 250 international awards for creative excellence, including two Academy Award nominations and 16 THEA Awards for their work in themed entertainment.

“BRC is thrilled to add its magic to the Gulliver’s Gate team in creating an attraction that will inspire wonder in audiences of all ages,” said Carmel Lewis, Vice President and Executive Producer of BRC Imagination Arts.

“As we move from the concept design to the implementation of this challenging project, we decided to broaden our base of experts in the fields of exhibition design and guest experiences,” said Eiran Gazit, co-founder and CEO of Gulliver’s Gate. “We are honored to have benefited from the expertise of Phil Hettema and his team and look forward to working with BRC, a global leader in their field, to help bring our story to life.”

Gulliver’s Gate will also feature educational centers as well as a full-body scanner and 3D printer to enable visitors to make two mini versions of themselves — one to take home with them and the other to leave behind as a permanent “citizen” of Gulliver’s Gate. Well over one million visitors are anticipated each year, with the cost of admission expected to be $30 for adults (with discounts for seniors and children). Opening is slated for April 2017.
