Mexico City, Mexico – The Sept. 16, 2013 grand opening of KidZania Cairo expands KidZania’s worldwide portfolio to 15 kid’s city locations. To date, KidZania has hosted more than 31 million children at its signature real-life, kid-sized city edutainment experiences. KidZania is now in 12 countries around the world, including Mexico, Portugal, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, UAE, Chile, Thailand, Kuwait, India and most recently, Egypt.
Built on an unwavering commitment to help children realize their full potential in a fun and educational context, KidZania Cairo leverages more than 100 real-world careers and 82 establishments to deliver the brand’s signature role-playing experience. Kids ages 3-14 will discover an ultra-realistic, kid-sized replica of a city, built indoors and brought to life with real-world establishments and well-known brands. Here, they will experience life as adults and work together to run the city, while learning the value of leadership, teamwork and personal empowerment.
“We are humbled and proud to bring KidZania to one of the oldest and most historically relevant civilizations in the world,” said Xavier López Ancona, president and founder of KidZania. “With the opening of KidZania Cairo, we bring a progressive, role-play experience that challenges and inspires Egyptian children to dream up their best possible future and create a better world for themselves, their families and global neighbors alike.”
KidZania Cairo is located just 15 minutes from Cairo International Airport, situated in Egypt’s innovative mixed-use complex “Cairo Festival City” with premier entertainment, prime restaurants and world-class schools. KidZania Cairo visitors will enter an 8,400 square meter city filled with 82 globally and regionally significant establishments including a university, bank, hospital, culinary school, driving school, bottling plant and potato chip factory – all sized just for kids. Plus, they can choose from more than 100 role-playing careers that include reporter, dentist, pilot, actor or even optometrist! Additionally, KidZania Cairo offers culturally relevant and unique role-playing career opportunities with its Egyptian Food Bank, Electronics Research Center, Carpet Making Center and Renewable Energy Solutions Center.
“We are overjoyed to join the burgeoning KidZania nation, where children are the inspiration for a future world that is better because of their contribution,” said Tarek Zidan, KidZania Egypt governor and CEO of Edrak for Edutainment Projects Development Co. “By weaving active learning into a fun city built just for kids, our world-class KidZania Cairo experience will enrich the self-esteem, leadership skills and lives of both our Egyptian children and young guests visiting from around the world.”
