Cambridge Seven, Moser-Mayer Phoenix help develop new $20M master plan for Natural Science Center, Greensboro NC

Greensboro, NC — The Natural Science Center team unveiled a Master Plan, stating that it “will move science-based tourism to the forefront of Greensboro’s economic and cultural future.” The Master Plan will unite an aquarium, zoological park and science museum. “This $20M plan has been carefully crafted and designed to be built on-budget, achieve maximum results, captivate audiences of all ages and position Greensboro as a signature destination for NC and a leader in innovative, community growth.”
 
The three-phase, seven-year Master Plan was developed with the help of international aquarium/museum designers, Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc. and Greensboro-based Moser-Mayer Phoenix & Associates.

Phase I: Carolina SciQuarium ($10M)
Groundbreaking: Summer 2011 / Opening: Winter 2012

Phase II: Museum Reinvention & Renewal ($5M)
Begin: Spring 2013 / Completion: Spring 2014

Phase III: Sanctuary Station – Endangered Species Village ($5M)
Groundbreaking: Spring 2015 / Opening: Spring 2016
