Montreal, Canada (May 15, 2013) — La Ronde’s 2013 season kicks off this Saturday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m. The amusement park invites Montrealers to bring the family and celebrate the launch of its 47th season starting at 10 a.m. La Ronde’s mascot Ribambelle and her friends The Z’s will welcome children with colourful balloons and the Kumpa’nia’s percussionists will perform. Also, the first 200 kids will receive a Ribambelle souvenir cup. World class entertainment and fun for the  entire family awaits visitors to La Ronde this season. Among the 2013 highlights :

Aqua Twist: New Interactive Water Ride
Guests boarding Aqua Twist or just watching others ride, are guaranteed to get soaked. This circular attraction is comprised of nine boats that can seat up to six passengers.  Just after boarding and before the ride starts, the floor disappears and is entirely covered with water, allowing each boat to float and rotate. Boats are equipped with six water pistols so passengers can interact with guests aboard the other boats and with bystanders. La Ronde will be the first amusement park in North America offering this interactive and innovative ride. Aqua Twist will make its official debut on June 1. La Ronde would like to thank hydraSense®, presenting sponsor of Aqua Twist.

Christmas at La Ronde
La Ronde will celebrate Christmas on July 25 and 26. Santa Claus will take a temporary leave from the North Pole to come and meet the little visitors of La Ronde. In addition, guests who participate in La Ronde’s Food Drive by bringing six non-perishable foods will receive a coupon to purchase a one day admission ticket for only $20.13 + taxes (the offer is only valid April 13-14, 2013). Food collected will be donated to Moisson Montréal.

Back by popular demand
As always, the whole family will enjoy fun and thrills at La Ronde. Again this year the park goes all out to offer great family-friendly entertainment. From June 22 to August 25, and on August 31, September 1 and 2, six times a day on the Ribambelle’s stage, La Ronde’s very popular mascot and her friends The Z transport little children into their magical world. This year’s programming will also include the ever-popular Mascot Day on June 15 as well as Prevention and Safety Days on June 5 and 6.

Another encore presentation is Cirq’O, a spectacular display of acrobatic feats merging sky and water! The second edition of this show will be presented at the Agora on June 22 and 28, July 5 and 12, and daily between July 20 to August 3 (no performances on July 22 and 29).

L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS
For its 29th edition, taking place June 22 – August 3, 2013, L’International des Feux Loto-Québec presented by TELUS will feature nine pyromusical shows that have all the ingredients to light up the Montreal sky. In addition to the traditional Saturday shows scheduled for June 22, July 20, 27 and August 3, there will also be fireworks on Wednesday July 24 and 31, and on Friday, June 28 and July 5 and 12. The program features unique themes, a first time participation for Croatia, and a tribute to Irish band U2.

October: Halloween Fright Fest
For 9 days starting October 5th, including all weekends and Thanksgiving Day, La Ronde will host Halloween Fright Fest. This year’s event, which remains the most frightening of its kind in Quebec, will feature major attractions.
