Positioning the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, CA as a leader in biodiversity science and regenerating the natural world will require breakthrough exhibition experiences. The Academy seeks a Senior Director of Exhibits to oversee the creative development process for inspiring exhibits using engaging, innovative storytelling.
Reporting to the Museum’s Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer, the Senior Director of Exhibits will rebuild and lead a team of ultimately over 20 exhibit professionals (designers, content developers, preparators, project managers, and registrars) that develop exhibits that push boundaries and engage broad public audiences. They will be responsible for the content strategy, evaluation, design, budget, installation and maintenance of the next generation of exhibits and tasked with rethinking how to use the building and exhibits to deepen visitor engagement.
