CAVU Designwerks, Inc. announces the appointment of Nathan Jones as Chief Operating Officer. Founded in 2015, CAVU offers a globally recognized engineering and project management team with the capacity and vision to deliver attractions on time and on budget. The company’s original designs, engineering experience and cutting-edge fabrication, combined with uncompromising quality standards, allows CAVU to offer attractions that deliver an exceptional guest experience, ride performance and ROI. CAVU’s global headquarters is in Victoria, BC, Canada, with offices in the US, China and Saudi Arabia.
In this newly created role and as a senior member of the executive team, Mr. Jones reports directly to CEO, Peter R. Schnabel who states, “We are excited to have Nathan as part of the CAVU team. He compliments our strong performance-oriented culture, and we believe his impressive reputation for execution and achieving results makes him the right choice for ensuring operational excellence across the company as we evolve into our next stage of company growth.”
Mr. Jones brings more than 22 years of leadership experience in the entertainment and attractions industry with a focus on achieving operational efficiencies, most recently as President, Park Attractions at WhiteWater, the industry leader in waterpark design and manufacturing, where he held responsibilities for operations, finance, and project delivery across global offices and manufacturing facilities. In addition, Mr. Jones has held senior key positions in the industry with companies including Vekoma Rides Manufacturing B.V. and Brogent Technologies. Mr. Jones’ executive management and leadership throughout the industry will be an asset to drive innovative solutions and industry-leading operational practices that will ultimately benefit CAVU’s global customer base.
In accepting the position, Mr. Jones commented, “There are few companies in the industry that have delivered the caliber of attractions that CAVU has over the past 5-years. The talented employee base and proven ability to execute on such complex projects provides a solid foundation for our forward trajectory and I am thrilled to join and contribute to the growth of such an exciting team.”
Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Technology, Management Degree, from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degrees from Cornell University and Queen’s University. Mr. Jones also volunteers his time with the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) as a current member of the Board of Directors for the International Board, and has recently been named to the TEA Executive Committee as Vice President. Based out of CAVU’s corporate offices in Victoria, B.C., Mr. Jones will bring his passion for the industry and will be a great asset to the entire CAVU team.
