Cosmic Pictures Launches Giant Screen Film Distribution Company

Cosmic Picture has launched a new giant screen film distribution company for museum and science center theaters. Cosmic Picture Distribution LLC will distribute a range of films, including a number of giant screen educational films from the National Geographic library, including award-winning documentaries such as Sea MonstersExtreme WeatherMysteries of the Unseen World and its own hit Jerusalem.

The move positions Cosmic Picture as an industry leader in both production and distribution as the Company looks to release a further 2-3 new films per year for the next few years.

“We have been producing and supporting the distribution of our films for the giant screen and IMAX theaters for a number of years starting with Journey to Mecca, followed by Jerusalem, and now with two new films in production, Superpower Dogs and Einstein’s Incredible Universe. Establishing our own distribution team and company creates a powerful synergy and further opportunities for our exhibition partners. We look forward to building on our past success, producing and distributing some extraordinary new films with some powerful marketing campaigns,” said Taran Davies.

“Effective, focused long-term marketing is key to the success of releasing films in the museum network. It’s a totally different approach to regular theatrical distribution, and Cosmic Picture will work closely with all our project stakeholders to deliver outstanding results for our film partners and theatre customers as we did for Jerusalem.” said George Duffield.

“One of my favorite aspects of the giant screen community is the collaboration between filmmakers and exhibitors to create must-see experiences for audiences. Extending our reach into distribution will allow us to strengthen this relationship.” said Daniel Ferguson.
