(April 16, 2012) — NASA has released the accompanying photos of Shuttle Orbiter OV-103, Discovery, being docked to its 747 transport. The shuttle will leave the Kennedy Space Center Tuesday morning, flying around the Washington DC area before landing at Dulles International Airport, where it will go on permanent display at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center. On April 23, the 747 will fly OV-101, Enterprise, from Air & Space to John F Kennedy Airport in New York City, where it will remain until being moved by barge later in the summer to its new home at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum.
