Pigeon Forge, TN, USA (May 17, 2012) /BUSINESS WIRE/ — Dollywood’s Splash Country, located in the Great Smoky Mountains adjacent to Dollywood theme park, opens Saturday, May 19, for its twelfth season.
The waterpark operates daily from May 26 through Aug. 19. The season continues through Labor Day weekend and concludes on Monday, Sept. 3.
“From mid-May to early September, Dollywood’s Splash Country offers guests a one-of-a-kind waterpark experience where each attraction takes advantage of our unique and beautiful Smoky Mountains location,” said Mike Brown, Dollywood’s Splash Country General Manager.
Named America’s Must-See Waterpark in 2009 by the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions and one of America’s best waterparks by The Travel Channel, Dollywood’s Splash Country features more than 35 water adventure slides, along with The Cascades leisure pool, the Mountain Waves wave pool, the Downbound Float Trip lazy river, children’s water play areas and much more.
In 2012, guests will enjoy a newly remodeled Brush Fire Grill restaurant which now features a new menu of hotdogs and Dollywood’s signature “taters.” Saturday exclusives return this season for the waterpark’s season passholders and their guests (park admission required) who are admitted one hour prior to the posted opening time each Saturday. Plus, a selected ride is open during this exclusive hour and an exclusive merchandise offer is available. The park’s popular SwiftWater Run is open from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 19.
