Allentown, PA (August 28, 2013) – Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom announces the addition for the 2014 season of a six-water-slide complex towering nearly seven stories. The Snake Pit slide complex will feature six different body and tube slide experiences and brings the total number of water slides in Wildwater Kingdom to 26. According to park officials, additional enhancements will be made to the waterpark to improve the Guest experience, including upgrading and adding more seating throughout the waterpark.

The six new slides offer a variety of opportunities for Guests to test their aquatic skills. At the peak of the 65-foot-tall structure, riders step into one of the three chambers of Python Plummet where, after an anxiety-filled countdown audible, a trap floor drops out launching Guests down a high-speed nearly vertical fall through a series of flat loops and s-curves. The longest free-fall drop slide takes riders on a nearly 450-foot long adrenaline rush. In addition to this intense experience, Guests can also choose between three different tube slides. The Constrictor spirals riders through an enclosed chute with four intense 360-degree loops across 449 feet of slide. Twin Boa Blasters shoot Guests down a series of high speed drops and banks as they hold on tight to a single or double tube.

This new slide complex rounds out the world-class waterpark package available at Wildwater Kingdom, including two full-sized wave pools, two lazy rivers, one of the longest raft slides in the country, 26 water slides and four family-friendly play areas. This combination of diverse water attractions in Wildwater Kingdom and a full line-up of thrill rides in Dorney Park, all included for one price, makes Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom the premier two-park destination to connect with family and friends.

“With this major expansion to Wildwater Kingdom we will continue to bring a best-day-of-the-summer experience to our Guests that makes Dorney Park the entertainment destination of choice in the Northeast,” states Michael Fehnel, Vice President and General Manager of Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom. “We chose this multi-slide complex to offer our Guests an entirely new variety of water slide experiences. Now with 26 slides, Wildwater Kingdom is the perfect place for summer fun.”

Set to open in Spring 2014, construction on Snake Pit will begin this Fall and be documented on the Park’s social media channels and official blog.
