Dubai, UAE (April 9, 2012) /Zawya/ — Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo and KidZania®, managed by Emaar Retail LLC, participated in Earth Hour 2012 on March 31 from 8:30pm to 9:30pm, to raise awareness on the need to take concrete action to mitigate the effects of climate change.
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo switched off all non-essential lights, displayed a waving underwater banner held by the divers stating “Together we can make a difference for the hour and beyond”. The lights of the main tank were dimmed, highlighting the message of Earth Hour.
KidZania® mascots, Urbano and Vita, participated in the DEWA Earth Hour walk at Burj Plaza, in addition to other activities dedicated to encouraging environmental action.
The DEWA establishment at KidZania®, the unique children’s edu-tainment centre located at The Dubai Mall, turned off the lights during Earth Hour and welcomed KidZania mascot Bache, while Zupervisors explained to the children the significance of the event.
