European Attractions Show 2015 To Offer Full Slate of Educational Programming

Alexandria, VA, USA (July 14, 2015) — Euro Attractions Show 2015 will offer five days of educational programming for attractions operators, managers, and executives in the dynamic European marketplace.  EAS 2015 is premier event for the global attractions industry in the European region and will draw more than 10,000 attractions industry professionals from 100 countries to the Svenska Massan Exhibition Center 6-8 October, with the conference program beginning on 4 October.

ABBA Lead Front Man Bjorn Ulveaus, Keynote Leadership Breakfast

7 October 2015

Mr. Ulvaeus will deliver his keynote address in the Rondo Theater in Liseberg Park on 7 October.  Mr. Ulvaeus is expected to discuss the successful development of the ABBA IP brand and its future development and relationship to the attractions industry. A gifted storyteller through song, plays, and movies he will share his vision for storytelling as it relates to the entertainment and attractions industry. The event includes a hot breakfast and ample opportunities for networking with attractions industry leaders prior to the exciting and entertaining presentation.

IAAPA Institute for Attractions Managers

4-6 October 2015

The IAAPA Institute for Attractions Managers is a blend of classroom instruction, case study, and field work designed for industry professionals with at least three years management experience and the potential to join a senior management team. The institute covers five core subjects, including operations and safety, marketing and communications, revenue operations, human resources and leadership, and finance. Students will have the unique opportunity to experience hands-on learning at Liseberg Park.  Additional registration fees apply.

IAAPA Safety Institute

5 October 2015

The IAAPA Safety Institute is held annually at EAS and presents the latest information on safety standards, ride protocols, accessibility issues, employee safety concerns, and information on additional safety and compliance related matters.

The IAAPA Safety Institute will be held at the Liseberg Theatre and will be moderated by Paul Chatelot, director prevention safety at Disneyland Resort Paris and chair of the IAAPA European Advisory Safety Subcommittee. Additional registration fees apply.

General Education Sessions

6-8 October 2015

The general educational program offers more than 15 sessions covering attractions management, revenue operations and profit generation, customer satisfaction, marketing, and leadership and developments in emerging markets. New this year, the EAS education program will offer tracks  focused government relations and safety and theming and design. On Tuesday 6 October, attendees can attend the Government Relations and Safety track which focuses on the importance of safety and security at high profile events and venues, information related to European government relations, and how to use data to measure your company’s performance. On Wednesday 7 October  participants can attend the track dedicated to theming, branding, and storytelling in the attractions industry with an emphasis on issues related to intellectual property.

Lunch and Learn- New for 2015

6-7 October 2015

Attendees will enjoy a warm lunch and hands-on learning during the EAS Lunch and Learn sessions at Liseberg park. The Tuesday Lunch and Learn will focus on how the Nordic Market operates successfully in such challenging circumstances, including weather, a shorter season, and a small catchment. Wednesday’s Lunch and Learn will focus on leadership skill and tactics to improve performance with your facility. Additional registration fees apply.

FEC day

8 October 2015

The final day of the exhibition, Thursday 8 October, will focus on two distinctive constituency groups, the family entertainment centres/Indoor Playgrounds and small parks. The Family Entertainment Centre (FEC) industry includes indoor playgrounds, go-kart tracks, indoor climbing, miniature golf centres, and more. The FEC day will feature speakers from  Europe and Chile who will discuss the latest trends in the family entertainment and edutainment industry. Speakers will share tips and best practices companies can easily apply at their own facilities. Topics discussed will include food and beverage services, marketing, and children’s birthday parties. Water Park Forum

8 October 2015

The Water Park Forum will focus on water park trends, operations, and accessibility. Speakers include John Childs from Sand Castle, Marcus Brian from Merlin Entertainments Group, and Steve Van den Kerchhof, with Plopsa Aqua. Pre and post-tours

Pre Tours- 5 October 2015

Post Tour- 9-11 October 2015

The pre-tours planned for Monday 5 October are to Liseberg and Universeum.

Liseberg will host a behind the scenes tour of the park including a variety of different areas of interest, including food and beverage, operations, events, rides and much more.

Universeum the largest science center in Sweden will guide guest through their various exhibits and share with attendees on the tour details and insights into their platform for attendance success.

The post tour will allow attendees to experience   a diverse group of attractions, including Grona Lund, Vasa Museum, ABBA The Museum, Junibacken, Den Bla Planet, and Tivoli Gardens. Additional registration fees apply, and more information is available here.
