London, UK — At a gala dinner on October 11 at the London Hilton, Electrosonic took home the AV Award for Consumer Installation of the Year for the second year in a row. This time the award was for Electrosonic’s work on The Siemens Crystal, a sustainable cities initiative by the global electronics and electrical engineering powerhouse.

Electrosonic has won a total of 27 AV Awards since the honors began in 1999.  The AV Awards are managed by UK-based AV Magazine but judged independently by senior representatives from user companies and key industry players.  They are considered to be one of the most prestigious AV industry awards in the UK.

The Siemens Crystal features extensive AV systems engineered and installed by Electrosonic.  Located at London’s Royal Victoria dock, it serves as home to Siemens’ Center of Competence – Cities, a team of multi-disciplinary urban experts.  Its public face is a 21,500-square foot interactive exhibition, which guides visitors through the urban infrastructure of the future by examining the possibilities for sustainable mobility, building technologies, power and water supplies, and healthcare.  Electrosonic’s support ranged from the entrance to the Crystal to ten exhibit zones and a concluding presentation.

“Once again we are proud to have been awarded the honour of Consumer Installation of the Year,” says Sarah Joyce, VP EMEA. “The Siemens Crystal features innovative interactive exhibits designed to inform the public about the sustainability of cities and how they’re meeting the challenges of security, clean water, energy, transportation, carbon dioxide levels and access to healthcare.  Ultimately, it’s an optimistic panorama of what the city of the future could look like if the ideas presented in The Crystal were to be applied.  Electrosonic is delighted to have played a part in this meaningful view of the urban society of tomorrow.”

The Crystal was designed by Wilkinson Eye, Architects with Pringle Brandon the interior/fit out architect.  Exhibit fabrication was by The Hub; content for the AV and interactive exhibits was created by ISO, All of Us, Clay, Squint Opera, Spirit Link, B12 and Siemens Software.  Additional content was produced by Event Communications and Siemens, with exhibit lighting design by DHA Design.

Last year Electrosonic won AV Award honors for its AV support of The Parlamentarium, the European Parliament’s Visitors’ Centre and the first multimedia-rich exhibition to be fully accessible in 24 languages.
