Fifteen New Amusement Parks Under Construction in Baghdad

Baghdad, Iraq — Local and regional companies began building 15 amusement parks in Karkh and Rusafa in Baghdad, the Baghdad Investment Commission announced August 24.

“These amusement parks will be built to solve the congestion problem at current amusement parks, a result of public demand to celebrate special occasions, weekends and annual holidays due to the improved security situation in Baghdad,” al-Zameli said.Shaker al-Zameli, chairman of the commission, told Al-Shorfa the parks will be completed in less than two years.

He said the parks were designed “with sound technical and technological specifications” and that “the games and rides were imported from specialised international factories.”

The commission is seeking to expand investment for building other amusement parks in all areas of Baghdad, according to al-Zameli.
