LAS VEGAS, MARCH 23, 2011 — As the worldwide motion picture theatre industry convenes in Las Vegas for the inaugural CinemaCon convention, Harkness Screens (Booth 904A), the world’s leading manufacturer of cinema screens, will be showcased at the gathering’s premier presentation venue, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
With a seating capacity of 4,082, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will feature a 71 ft. by 30 ft. Harkness Spectral™ 240 3D screen. Harkness’ Spectral 240 3D screen is considered by cinema exhibitors and special venue operators worldwide to be the optimum 3D projection surface for systems using polarised light.
“Harkness Screens is thrilled to be working with CinemaCon, the largest motion picture industry show worldwide, as the official provider of 3D silver screens,” says Andrew Robinson, managing director of Harkness Screens.  “With Hollywood’s heavy hitters in attendance, we are excited that our screens will be showcased in the event’s presentation venue at The Colosseum.”
The Spectral™ 240 features a high extinction ratio and provides spectacular 3D images.  The surface also supports 2D images and can be used successfully in auditoria where 2D and 3D are both shown.  The intrinsically high gain (2.4) overcomes light losses in 3D systems.
