Hettema Group Promotes Pruett to Senior VP, Adds Polk and Michioka to Growing Staff

Los Angeles, CA, USA — The Hettema Group has announced that it is promoting Anthony Pruett to Senior Vice President and welcoming new team members John Polk and Diane Michioka as part of a company-wide expansion.

The Hettema Group (THG), designers and producers of experiential attractions around the world, are pleased to welcome John Polk as Vice President, Technical Design and Development, responsible for all show system and technical design for projects worldwide.  John worked for many years at Walt Disney Imagineering, and most recently served as Executive Vice President for world-renowned Fountain People outside of Austin, Texas.  John’s long project list includes the “World of Color” nighttime spectacular at Disney’s California Adventure, Tokyo Disney Sea park-wide special effects, Disney’s “Expedition Everest,” “Ariel’s Grotto,” Sea World’s “One Ocean,” “Blue Horizons,” and “Manta-The Ride.”

Diane Michioka has joined THG as a Senior Show Producer.  Her credits include creative management at Walt Disney Imagineering and six years as the Director of the Disneyland Design Studio, working on all aspects of the park.    Subsequently, she executed independent projects for Disney’s California Adventure and Harry Potter themed attractions.

“The addition of these talented individuals brings even more experience and expertise to our exceptional in-house team as we continue the exciting new expansion of The Hettema Group,” said Phil Hettema, President.

Anthony Pruett has been promoted to Senior Vice President, assuming a leading role in the overall direction and management of the company.  “I look forward to working with him as we undertake a new slate of exciting and challenging projects and continue to expand the company,” said Hettema.

THG designed and produced the world’s tallest observation wheel, the “High Roller” in Las Vegas, Nevada, (owned by Caesars Entertainment), which opened in March 2014, as well as the One World Observatory experience in the new World Trade Center building in New York City, which will open in May 2015.
