Host Cities Announced for 2014 IMERSA and GSCA Conferences

IMERSA, which stands for “Immersive Media Entertainment, Research, Science & Arts” and the Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) have both announced the host cities for the 2014 conferences.

First up is IMERSA’s annual summit, returning to the Gates Planetarium at the the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Denver, CO, USA.  Taking place March 6-9, the summit will provide workshops in spherical photography, fulldome film production, 360 audio, fulldome cameras, and distribution practices, along with presentations of the latest innovative products, Best of Fest film screenings, interchange standards, and tools and technologies.  The Summit is cosponsored by the Denver Film Society, with some events taking place at the SIE Film Center.

March 23-25, the GSCA Film Expo will take place at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, Austin, TX, USA.  The Film Expo will focus on film screenings, including new films, films in production, and projects in development.  The GSCA is working to include a laser system and/or a digital demo as well as a high frame rate demo at the event.

The GSCA International Conference and Trade Show will be held September 20-23 in Toronto, ON, Canada, co-hosted by Cineplex and the Ontario Science Centre.  The conference will feature film screenings, professional development, technical demonstrations, a trade show, and more.  The GSCA also plans to include a laser demo as part of the conference.
