Mark Weston and Anthony Imbrogno, creators of FunTraptions, join SplashTacular team

Nov 22, 2011 Martin Palicki Uncategorized Comments Off on Mark Weston and Anthony Imbrogno, creators of FunTraptions, join SplashTacular team

Paola, Kansas,  — SplashTacular, Inc., largest US‐based waterslide manufacturer, has selected industry veterans Mark Weston and Anthony Imbrogno, creators of FunTraptions(TM) products and brand, to become part of the company’s expanding team of professionals – a team that offers a full range of waterparks products, from signature rides and slides, to sophisticated play structures, interactive water features and lazy rivers.

“Mark and Tony have been industry innovators in interactive play,” said Steve Levine, SplashTacular CEO. “Their expertise further expands our unique product offerings and client base and has already had immediate impact on our international market.”

Recent SplashTacular projects featuring FunTraptions(TM) interactive play attractions include Aquariaz in France with the Pierre & Vacances/Center Parcs Group and Hopi Hari Amusement Park in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In addition, the FunTraptions brand of interactive play products has been installed by a wide range domestic clients, including: Legoland, Paramount Parks, Six Flags, Victory Junction Gang, Dollywood’s River Country, Great Wolf Lodge Resort, Wilderness Resorts, Valley of the Springs, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Louisville Zoo, Columbus Zoo, Texas State Aquarium, Marriott International, and MAF Leisure, Dubai and others.

Mark Weston, serving as Director of Interactive Play for SplashTacular, served as FunTraptions president after moving from SCS Interactive/Koala where he served as vice president and managing partner. Weston, a former practicing child psychologist and twice published author on interactive play and parenting has led new product development, project management and account management for Six Flags, Universal Studios, The London Millennium Dome, Hasbro/Playskool, Disney Development Company, and many other domestic and international clients.

Anthony “Tony” Imbrogno now serves as Interactive Design Specialist for SplashTacular. Imbrogno brings extensive knowledge and background in both design and production of interactive components. Before FunTraptions, he served as production manager/R&D director for SCS Interactive and consultant to Koala Corporation. Before joining SCS, Imbrogno spent more than 20 years in the building and construction trades where he honed skills in construction management, value engineering, and quality assurance programs

SplashTacular will manufacture the FunTraptions brand of products in the United States alongside their Aquatic Play Unit division.

“The FunTraptions brand complements our Aquatic Play Unit Division and company commitment to innovation in design,” notes Levine. “Our expanded team knows what inspires play. Our passion to deliver unparalleled family entertainment is what sets our team apart from other companies, making innovation and client service the focus of all SplashTacular projects.”

The announcement of the new appointments supports SplashTacular’s strategic move in 2009 to create an aquatic play unit division. In addition to being the largest US‐based waterslide and waterpark attraction manufacturer, the company has become recognized as a full service design/build supplier specializing in custom‐themed and branded attractions. In addition to waterparks, recent installations include hotel resorts, theme parks, zoos, aquariums, science centers, children’s museums and family entertainment centers.

“Our goal is to create compelling aquatic entertainment ‐ places that create delight and enthusiasm for waterpark visitors that in turn drive our clients’ revenue,” explains Levine. “By creating unforgettable thrills, fun and memories for families, we generate repeat visits for years on end. The addition of Mark and Tony, along with FunTraptions WetScapes(TM), AdventureRivers(TM) and other interactive components means we can provide an extraordinary next‐generation entertainment experience that complements our waterslides and signature attractions for virtually any size aquatic installation.”

About SplashTacular SplashTacular, Inc. is the largest waterslide manufacturer in the U.S. and winner of the World Waterpark Association’s prestigious Innovation Award. Since 1994, the company has built more than 1,000 waterpark attractions, including 3,000 waterslides, in destinations throughout the world.

SplashTacular designs, engineers, manufactures, and installs signature waterpark attractions that maximize attendance and throughput. The award‐winning 360RushTM is a patented, 58‐foot‐tall dual waterslide that delivers two riders simultaneously into a 45 ft. diameter bowl at speeds of up to 40 mph. The Double BowlsEyeTM is an interactive raft experience that allows four friends to “race” each other down two towering 60 ft. tall enclosed slides in dueling rafts.

SplashTacular prides itself on delivering waterpark experiences that create unforgettable memories for families and generate revenue for park managers. Corporate offices are located in California, with operations facilities in Kansas and Texas. For more information, call (800) 844‐5334 or visit www.SplashTacular.com.
