The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) invites qualified firms to submit a response for attraction and leisure design consulting services. The intent of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to establish a Vendor of Record (VOR) list for attraction and leisure design consulting services on an “as required” basis for various projects requiring this service. The VOR arrangement is not a guarantee for work and is not an exclusive arrangement.
NPC operates several natural, adventure, heritage and floral themed attractions including:
• Journey Behind the Falls
• Niagara’s Fury
• White Water Walk
• Whirlpool Aero Car
• Butterfly Conservatory
• Floral Showhouse
• Old Fort Erie
• Laura Secord Homestead
• Mackenzie Printery
• McFarland House
Within the next few years, as part of NPC’s Strategic Plan and the desire to develop great visitor experiences, the plan is to a) create new attraction or leisure experiences and/or b) refresh or re-envision some of its existing experiences. In addition, NPC may look to develop fully new experiences on its lands.
NPC will require the services performed by a licensed design architect (or equivalent professional designation) of a qualified firm that possesses attraction and leisure development expertise in core attractions such as, but not limited to:
• Amusement or Theme Park
• Museum
• Natural or Cultural Attraction
• Heritage Site
• Aquarium/Zoo
• Family Entertainment
• Stand-alone single rides for the purpose of entertainment
• Adaptive reuse of a heritage building for attraction or leisure activities
This RFQ is available only through Bonfire, the electronic bidding system used by the NPC. For further information about Bonfire, contact Bonfire directly at 1-800-354-8010, send an e-mail message to Support@GoBonfire.com or visit the Bonfire website at http://www.gobonfire.com/.
A Respondent who has not obtained this RFQ through Bonfire may have its Response disqualified. The link to NPC’s Bonfire online portal can be found on the Niagara Parks Commission website at: https://niagaraparks.bonfirehub.ca/portal/.
There is no cost to vendors who wish to register, download a bid document or submit a response. QUESTIONS Firms are to submit questions via Bonfire’s Opportunity Q&A board before the Respondent’s Deadline for Questions: Friday, June 28, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. ET.
