SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — As the consumer demand for visual access to information rises and the competition for attracting audiences to retail venues increases, Obscura Digital has been developing technology-driven creative marketing solutions that bring a new edge to the consumer experience. With technologies ranging from architectural video mapping shows, to multi-touch interactive experiences, to in-store digital display networks, Obscura Digital is transforming retail spaces into entertaining destinations with dynamic permanent attractions that are rapidly becoming buzz-worthy public spectacles.

Exhibiting the latest in architectural mapping technologies, Obscura Digital recently transformed the landmark Emporium dome of the Westfield San Francisco Centre into a spectacular holiday show, running every half hour from 6:00pm – 8:30pm, through December 31. Illuminuque Under the Dome is a new permanent video installation designed to encourage shoppers to return for a different dazzling show each season. This 3-D state-of-the-art theater canvases the 11,781 interior surface area of the Centre’s historic dome, nearly three times the size of a standard IMAX screen, making it the largest permanent video mapping installation in San Francisco.

“Illuminique Under the Dome is an enchanting masterpiece and will undoubtedly become a new Holiday tradition in San Francisco. Shopper response has been overwhelming positive and we could not think of a better way to showcase and celebrate our historic and beloved Dome,” said Shelly Schembre, General Manager of Westfield San Francisco Centre.

For shopping centres or retail venues looking for a way to increase sales, loyalty, and branding while delivering a unique customer experience, Obscura Digital has a creative technology-driven solution to enhance one’s appeal to a broad consumer base.

Obscura Digital has also generated award-winning interactive multi-touch experiences that enable multiple customers to simultaneously search for, navigate, and read about imagery and video footage of items or products on display. For the Hard Rock Cafe’s flagship locations, Obscura Digital designed the Rock Wall, a real-time multi-touch display system that allows users to interact with photos and videos of their 70,000 piece Rock ‘n Roll memorabilia collection, moving at 60-frames per second across an 18ft x 4ft wall with a high-res screen.

To further broaden their spectrum of consumer-based technologies, Obscura Digital recently developed the S:)GN (SIGN) point-of-sale initiative to address the evolving in-store digital display goals of retail brands, bringing the best of online marketing into the store. S:)GN is designed to create ongoing dialogue with customers via interactive ads, video, and product information through inclusive mobile and messaging programs, leveraging the latest advances in tablets and cloud computing. With their S:)GN technology, Obscura Digital creates powerful interactivity and cost-effective coverage across a brand’s entire retail footprint.
