Old Town Kissimmee Salutes American Heroes

Kissimmee, FL, USA (April 3, 2012) /PRWEB/ —  Old Town is celebrating the men and women who dedicate their lives each day to protecting and saving others. The day-long park-wide festival, “American Hero Fest” will be held on April 29, 2012 and will honor armed forces personnel, police, fire department and emergency services workers.

Live music performances and stilt walkers are among the free entertainment at the Kissimmee theme park’s celebration which will run from 12 – 8 p.m. Additionally, Old Town is raffling off a chance to ride in a vintage T-6 Texan airplane as it flies over the theme park during the American Hero Fest. Raffle tickets are available for sale at the Old Town ticket booths.

Special discounts will be offered to retired and active military, law enforcement, fire department and emergency response workers and their families at many of Old Town’s shops, restaurants and rides. The honorees need only show military ID or proof of employment.

The American Hero Fest daylong program will include: 

  • Live Entertainment on stage from 12:30 – 4 p.m.
  • Blood Drive from 12 – 6 p.m.
  • Street Entertainment from 12 – 6 p.m.
  • Appreciation Ceremony at 4 p.m. at the Old Town Stage
  • Parade through Old Town’s Main Street at 6 p.m.
  • Party at Sun on the Beach Nightclub at 7 p.m.

The American Heroes can enjoy Old Town’s 21 rides and attractions including the Pepsi AMPVenture Experience challenge course, zip line and rock climbing wall. After enjoying a meal at any of Old Town’s seven fine dining restaurants, visitors can browse the more than 80 specialty shops located throughout the adventure park.

Old Town is located at 5770 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway (Hwy. 192) in Kissimmee. Operating hours are Sunday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to Midnight.
