Orlando, FL, USA (November 14, 2012) — 2012 is the 30th anniversary of the opening of EPCOT – consistently, year after year, the fifth best attended theme park in the world. Held earlier today, this session at the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2012 offered the opportunity to hear the unique insights and perspectives of Disney Legend Marty Sklar, who guided the creative development of EPCOT. In addition to being Walt Disney’s last dream, EPCOT pioneered a new type of Disney park without a castle in its center, and, for its first decade, absolutely no Disney characters or licensed properties. The creation also launched the careers of many industry newcomers who are today’s industry leaders. Creative Direction, and immediate past President, Themed Entertainment Association (TEA); Tony Baxter, Senior Vice President, Creative, Walt Disney Imagineering; Monty Lunde, President, Technifex; and Eric Jacobson, Creative Leader, EPCOT, Walt Disney Imagineering.  Photo courtesy BRC Imagination Arts.
