Henqin, China — Through incentive ticketing and special entertainment, such as the addition of mermaids to its large oceanic tank, Chimelong Ocean Kingdom welcomed over 60,000 guests on March 8, International Women’s Day, bringing the total attendance at the park to over 650,000 since January 1.
Chimelong officials report that ticket sales for the event were halted on March 6 as the maximum capacity for the March 8 event had been reached. Ocean Kingdom also utilized a triage system during operation on International Women’s Day to improve crowd efficiency and keep traffic flowing.
