Baltimore, MD, USA (December 19, 2011) – Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Mario of the Mario Do Right Foundation announced today that Jim Seay, President of Baltimore-based thrill ride developer Premier Rides, has joined the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

The Mario Do Right Foundation is dedicated to providing community-based services and the enrichment of programs devoted to serving youth in challenged communities. Inspired by his struggles growing up in a home afflicted by addiction, founder Mario Barrett works hard to reach out to troubled youth. Using his celebrity as a singer, songwriter, model, and actor, the Baltimore native envisioned The Mario Do Right Foundation to promote as well as provide the crucial community support needed to sustain positive alternatives and viable opportunities for children adversely affected by drug or alcohol abuse in the home.

Together, Seay will work with the Foundation to inspire young people to overcome any obstacles and take the steps necessary to proactively make their dreams become reality. “Jim understands that entertainment and the people involved in the entertainment business can inspire individuals to reach for a better life regardless of their situation,” said Mario. “He shares in our commitment to empower kids with both opportunity and support, especially to those who need them most. I am looking forward to Jim taking a significant role as part of the Do Right Foundation’s formula for success.”

“From my personal relationship with Mario, I learned about the work of his foundation,” commented Seay. “He has an incredible passion to find meaningful ways to support kids who have suffered due to substance abuse in the home. He wants to make a difference and I am honored to be part of his organization.”

Jim Seay’s dedication to supporting causes that improve the lives of youth in Baltimore extends to both local and national foundations. He serves as Board Member for the National Aquarium in Baltimore and supports the Give Kids the World, Toys for Tots, and ReWired for Change charities. In his professional capacity, Jim serves as Chairman of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) F24 Safety Committee, volunteers as an industry representative to the Recreation Access Board which focuses on providing amusement ride access to people with disabilities, and serves on the Board of Directors of both the Amusement Industry Manufacturers and Suppliers (AIMS) Organization and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Foundation.
