SimEx Iwerks Opens 4D Express Attractions in Phoenix and Denver

Baltimore, MD, USA — SimEx-Iwerks is proud to announce the opening of two all new 4-D Express attractions. Both attractions were designed to have a more natural look complementing each unique venue. In addition, these attractions were created to enhance the guest experience and add a huge element of fun while generating significant revenue for our partners.

The Phoenix Zoo, one of the largest non-profit zoos in the country just celebrated 50 years of inspiring millions of guests – connecting them with wildlife and nature in new and captivating ways. This January, we opened a magnificent new 4-D Theater that will showcase both branded and nature-based content. This all new attraction will enrich the guest experience and provide value-driven ticket packaging opportunities to increase overall Zoo revenue.

The 50-seat, 4-D Express Theater was custom-designed to aesthetically integrate into the overall look of the Zoo. The 4-D Theater currently features Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs – The 4-D Experience and Grizzly Bears 4-D Experience and will later include 4-D Experiences for Halloween and other Holiday promotions.

“We are excited to bring this new experience to our guests. We opened during our peak season and the 4-D Theater has been so easy to operate,” says Jennifer Flowers, Director, Guest Services and Membership, Phoenix Zoo. “We are thrilled to offer these high-quality shows to boost our seasonal promotions.”

Jennifer further stated, “Another big benefit from the 4-D theater, we are utilizing the 4-D queue to promote Membership sales, food and beverage, retail and to inform guests of upcoming events at the Zoo.”

Owned and operated by Landry’s, the recently redesigned Downtown Aquarium complex in Denver, Colorado features a public aquarium boasting more than a million gallons of underwater exhibits with over 500 species of animals. The aquarium also includes an interactive Stingray Reef touch tank, Aquarium Restaurant, Dive Lounge, and amusements for the entire family.  SimEx-Iwerks has partnered with the Aquarium for nearly 10 years now with a cinematic Ride attraction.

The Aquarium upgraded the previous ride to a fully equipped, state of the art, 4-D Theater recently opened December 19, 2014. “We wanted to refresh our attraction offering and knew we wanted to continue our relationship with SimEx-Iwerks,” said Chad Ashley, General Manager, “This new 4-D Theater Experience will appeal to our family audience and be a strong component in our new Value Ticket.”

This 40-seat 4-D Express Theater features SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D: The Great Jelly Rescue and Planet Earth: Shallow Seas 4-D Experience. In addition, the Aquarium will offer The Polar Express 4-D Experience during their annual Holiday promotion.
