Special Irma Update 9/8 3:00 pm EDT

PREVIOUS UPDATE 9/8 10.00 am EDT

Please note the addition of Lowry Park Zoo and changes to Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando, and LEGOLAND Florida. The 6:00 pm EDT will feature an update on SeaWorld’s assistance efforts in Texas following Hurricane Harvey.

CENTRAL FLORIDA ATTRACTIONS:

Walt Disney World: Night of Joy on Sept 9 and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Sept 10 have been canceled. Blizzard Beach is closed for the weekend, though Typhoon Lagoon remains open. Fort Wilderness Campground will close Sept 9.

Universal Orlando Resort: The entire resort will close at 7 pm on Sept 9 and reopen on Tuesday, Sept 12. Rock the Universe will commence this evening, but tomorrow’s Rock the Universe and Sunday’s prayer service have been canceled.

LEGOLAND Florida: LEGOLAND Florida theme park and LEGOLAND Florida Waterpark will be closed Sept 9 – 11.  The LEGOLAND Hotel will remain open and will admit arriving guests. The LEGOLAND Beach Retreat will close, with guests being reassigned to the LEGOLAND Hotel.

Orlando Eye: The Eye will be closed on Sept 9. Operations will resume once the storm has passed.

SeaWorld Orlando/Aquatica/Discovery Cove: SeaWorld Orlando will close by 5 pm EDT on Saturday and will remain closed on Sunday and Monday. Aquatica Orlando will be closed Saturday – Monday. Discovery Cove will be closed on Sunday and Monday. SeaWorld and Busch Gardens are enacting their “Peace of Mind” Policy. The parks are rescheduling or refunding any vacation package or individual park tickets booked through SeaWorld Vacations, Busch Gardens Vacations, DiscoveryCove.com, SeaWorld.com, BuschGardens.com, or the contact center. The parks will not apply any cancellation or change fees for this service.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay: Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will close by 5 pm EDT on Saturday and will remain closed on Sunday and Monday. Adventure Island will be closed Saturday – Monday.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo: The zoo closed at 2 pm EDT today and will remain closed through Monday.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex: Will be closed from September 8-12.

Central Florida attractions will continue to monitor the situation and make changes accordingly.
