Themed Attractions and Resorts Celebrates 2012 with Five New Malaysian Theme Parks

Orlando, FL, USA (November 13, 2012) — Themed Attractions and Resorts brought five new premier theme parks to Malaysia – KidZania Kuala Lumpur, LEGOLAND Malaysia, the first in Asia LAT’s Place, the first of its kind themed animated dining experience, the first SANRIO HELLO KITTY TOWN outside of Japan, the first in the world The Little Big Club, houses favorable characters such as Bob the Builder®, Barney®, Angelina Ballerina®, Pingu® and Thomas & Friends®

As one of the top destinations of the world, Themed Attractions and Resorts reaffirmed its commitment to the growth and development of Malaysia’s Leisure and Tourism sector with the opening of new attractions. Already a high tourist destination, Malaysia’s rich culture and heritage as well as being a shopping haven is now further enhanced through the addition of these world-class theme parks and attractions.

LEGOLAND Malaysia is the first LEGOLAND Park in Asia and the sixth in the world. The Park has more than 40 rides, shows and attractions spread over an impressive 76 acres. It offers an interactive and educational adventure for families with children between the ages of 2 and 12. LEGOLAND Malaysia is also the ultimate experience for LEGO® fans and is full of models made from more than 50 million LEGO bricks. Lat’s Place, SANRIO HELLO KITTY TOWN, The Little Big Club and LEGOLAND Malaysia are strategically located in Nusajaya, Johor. It is only a 20 minutes’ drive from the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link or 25 minutes away from the Johor’s, Senai International Airport

Malaysia’s very own cartoon character Kampung Boy (Village Boy), will be brought to life in a unique interactive dining experience for patrons. Lat’s Place will be the first of its kind in the world as it Themed Attractions and Resorts looks to add further excitement by introducing a local flair into the themed attractions mix. Lat’s Place is set to open in December 2012. Providing a series of unique experiences and excitement through popular children’s characters such as LAT Kampung Boy, SANRIO HELLO KITTY TOWN and The Little Big Club, guests will be thoroughly entertained and play-learn via rides, activities and shows provided. It is an immersive learning and play experience for everyone.

LAT’s Place in Puteri Harbour will house the first ever animated dining experience and , bringing the world of popular and internationally renowned cartoonist, Dato’ LAT’s famed Kampung Boy (Village Boy) character to life. Guests will be immersed into Village life through the enchanting restaurant design and engaging animations. Guests will also dine in the splendor of LAT’s humour and artistry, enticing the five senses in this truly immersive experience.

The first Hello Kitty theme park outside of Japan will be among the developments forming Puteri Harbour as a family theme park. SANRIO HELLO KITTY TOWN will consist of walk-through attractions and various activities. Hello Kitty fans can enjoy the hi-tech interactive themed experience at Black Wonder to the Wishful Studio which offers jewellry making, costume dress up, a nail salon, cookie studio and doll factory.

SANRIO HELLO KITTY TOWN will also feature Friendship Land with its playground and tea cup rides. Another feature is the “Purrfect” stage where Hello Kitty and her friends such as Dear Daniel, Badtz-Maru and My Melody conduct live performances. Guests can also have their photos taken with Hello Kitty and friends and host themed birthday parties.

The Little Big Club® will house characters such as Bob the Builder®, Barney®, Angelina Ballerina®, Pingu® and Thomas & Friends®. Featuring a series of rides, The Little Big Club® will offer various interactive activities which follow the HIT Entertainment characters’ theme.

Bob the Builder® will feature both an interactive and engaging ride for young children as well as a play house where children are able to help build houses in Bobsville. Barney® and friends will be singing and dancing to all of their favourite songs in a live stage performance while a computer generated image (CGI) of Angelina Ballerina® leads a dance class where children will be taught fun dance moves.

Another development by Themed Attractions and Resorts is KidZania Kuala Lumpur. Having opened KidZania Kuala Lumpur in February 2012, this indoor edutainment centre provides children with the opportunity to learn about the world of adult occupations via role-playing various professions. Children can choose from 90 career based activities such as a firefighter, pilot or chef and carry out activities specifically designed to aid physical and intellectual growth. Unlike other theme parks, KidZania does not feature any rides or arcade games.

KidZania has been named Best Theme Park Worldwide by The Themed Entertainment Association and awarded Top Family Entertainment Centre of the World by the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions. Most recently, the KidZania franchise was named Global Leisure Operator of the Year by Retail & Leisure International, in an awards ceremony in London.
