Thinkwell’s David Cobb and Walt Disney Imagineering’s Joe Rohde to Present at 2013 TEA Summit

Burbank, CA, USA — David Cobb of Thinkwell and Joe Rohde of Walt Disney Imagineering have been added to the roster of leading themed entertainment designers presenting at the 2013 TEA Summit, taking place at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA, USA April 4-5, 2013.

Cobb, Senior Creative Director at Thinkwell Group, has served on several notable projects including the Monkey Kingdom Theme Park in Huairou, China as well asWarner Bros. Theme Park in Abu Dhabi; he has also overseen dozens of other Thinkwell concepts for theme parks, attractions & museum experiences around the globe, as well as the development of new animated shows for Disney XD, will be moderating the session “Strategies: Working with Brands: Creativity inside the Brand Box,” a Master Class on April 4.  Three panelists representing the Brand Police, The Deal Maker/Attraction Developer, and the Creative Brain will discuss the challenges of being true to the brand while being creative and fresh.

During Case Studies Day, April 5, Joe Rohde will speak about 2013 Thea Award recipient Aulani Resort.  Rohde is a 30-year veteran of The Walt Disney Company who started his career as a model designer on Epcot, and continued with projects for Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif.; Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.; and Disneyland Paris.  He led the team that conceptualized, designed and built Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort.  Rohde continues to oversee new attractions for that park and is also responsible for the creative design and content of Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, at Ko Olina, O’ahu, Hawai’i, which debuted in August 2011.
