Vortex International Launches New Interactive Explora Splashpad Collection

Vortex Aquatic Structures International has announced the launch of the Explora Splashpad®Collection, which encourages children to move, reach, touch, push, tap, spin, run, feel, get surprised.

Vortex saw an opportunity to further develop an active play component in their products. Explora keeps children moving, pushing, pulling, spinning and exploring. Designed for toddlers through tweens, Explora encourage kids engage more deeply in the process of discovery, learning that one action with Explora will cause a reaction.

Featuring unusual shapes, vibrant colors, and surprising interactivity, the Explora Collection transforms public spaces as well as aquatic centers and venues ranging from amusement and water parks to hotels and resorts. Explora can be the centerpiece of a new Splashpad®, and can complement and enhance any other featured Vortex products and also can be integrated into refurbished or expanded installations.

The initial Explora products of Orbs, Mega Orbs and TwistNozzles™ will debut Sept. 26-28 at the 2017 National Recreation and Park Association Annual Conference in New Orleans, Booth #2930 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Explora Orbs and Mega Orbs bring a new level of interaction to every play feature and provide a captivating and tactile play environment while promoting learning of cause and effect.  TwistNozzles™ allow kids to aim and control the water jets’ direction, which is fun while developing fine motor skills.

“Through our games, we apply notions of free and unstructured play, motor skills development, cognitive development, social development, and creativity development. We include a little bit of science, a bit of education, a bit of abstract structures, and a bit of magic to offer play experiences that are meaningful to child development,” said Stephen Hamelin, Vortex’s president.  “Unlike playing with a ball or in the sand, we don’t move water; water moves us. Water takes Explora to a new level of play and discovery.”

Vortex will debut the Explora Splashpad® collection at NRPA because, “As one of our most important trade shows, NRPA is an ideal place to launch an important new product line,” Hamelin added.
