Vortex Aquatic Structures Announces New Vice Presidents

Montreal, QC, Canada — Vortex Aquatic Structures International (www.vortex-intl.com), a manufacturer and world leader in aquatic play landscapes and entertainment solutions, today announced two new vice presidents for business development. Kevin Spence has been appointed Vice President, Business Development North America. Andreea Dutescu has joined the company as Vice President Strategy and International Business Development.

Kevin SpenceIn his new position, Spence, who had served as the company’s General Manager for the Western and Texas Operations since 2011, will be responsible for business growth in North America with a strong focus on the development and support of the company’s outside sales team and channel. 

Prior to Vortex, Spence owned and operated Miracle Playground Sales in California representing Vortex.  He also possesses many years of experience in the municipal recreation market with an expertise in aquatic play and water management.  

Andreea DutescuDutescu will be responsible for Vortex’s international business strategy and growth. She brings more than 20 years’ experience in senior level positions in start-ups to international organizations. Her experience spans across the manufacturing, aviation, aerospace, luxury, and retail industries. Most recently, she spent the last three years with Bombardier Business Aircraft as the Director, Sales and Market Insight.

“This new position will allow Kevin to employ his experience, expertise and talent to a broader scope throughout the organization. In particular, his experience working with municipalities is important since that continues to be one of Vortex’s most important markets. Andreea’s expertise in sales, marketing and international strategy will enable Vortex to grow as we look to develop new markets and geographies,” said Stephen Hamelin, president, Vortex International. 

Spence and Dutescu both report to Hamelin.
