When the National Hockey League approached Hotopp a few months ago for their Return to Play plan with the 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers, Hotopp faced one of their most difficult creative challenges, with extremely limited time, complex production logistics and design challenges all against the backdrop of the worldwide pandemic. The task was not only to “fill” two stadiums in Toronto and Edmonton and maintain a high level of visual energy, but to use the production elements to bring the fan experience to the tv audience at home and to produce it all while safely inside the secure NHL “bubbles”.
