WhiteWater Announces Completion of Industry’s First SilkGel Slide Resurfacing Project

Nessie’s Revenge at the West Edmonton Mall’s World Waterpark looks brand new these days, thanks to WhiteWater’s newest technological innovation, SilkGel. This unique and original technology offers superior gloss and colour retention and is an eco-friendly, low maintenance product. SilkGel offers the industry’s only 5-year resurfacing warranty against fading and chalking.

SilkGel was recently awarded the coveted Best New Technology Award at IAAPA. “We are very proud to be the leader in innovation and technology for the waterpark industry,” said WhiteWater’s Scott Heke, VP After Sales and Service. “The response to this product has been tremendous and we are committed to numerous resurfacing projects in the coming months.”

SilkGel  was pioneered at WhiteWater’s manufacturing facilities in Kelowna, BC in response to legislated reduction in the use of styrenes, which prevented fading in fiberglass. This newest innovation in high-performance fiberglass coatings offers excellent UV resistance and consistent gloss. SilkGel  application increases waterslides’ lifespans and allows resurfacing with new colours.

It has already been proven successful outside of the waterpark industry where it can be seen on every PetroCanada gas station’s red fiberglass façade in Canada.

SilkGel is now the standard for every new WhiteWater waterslide and offers the industry’s only 10-yearwarranty against fading and chalking on new installations.

But ORIGINAL is also about being seriously fun and innovative! It’s about thinking outside-the-pool; taking time to play, creating the newest, coolest attractions; not being afraid to be different and to take risks; and most of all, supplying the most memorable, WOW-that-made-my-day experiences in the world!
