50 Days to Opening of EXPO Astana 2017

In exactly 50 days away, on June 10, one of the key events dedicated to renewable energy will be opened in Astana. Exciting technological innovations which will become a part of everybody’s life in the future will be demonstrated to the visitors of EXPO-2017.

The participants are doing their best to surprise guests of the exhibition by unique designs. Some of the pavilions are planned to be finished long before the opening. “About 50% of the exhibition is ready, and we are going to complete our works in May”, Kim Jehona, a representative of the pavilion of South Korea, president of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (КОТРА), said.

The countries chose various themes for their stands to make a story about future energy development interesting, colorful and easy-to-understand. China decided to focus on sustainable development and cooperation between countries along the Silk Road. The theme of the Chinese pavilion will be “Future Energy, Green Silk Road”.

Germany, with its theme “Energy on Track – Energiewende “Made in Germany”, will tell not only about renewable energy potentials but also about the concept of the “City of the Future”. Visitors will see Smart Grid and SmartHome exhibit areas.

Russia will demonstrate its renewable energy potentials using the Arctic as an example. Visitors of the pavilion named “United Energy Flow” will suddenly find themselves in the vast area of the Russian North and will even have a chance to touch a real iceberg. State-of-the-art Russian green energy developments will be presented, too.

The Kazakhstan Pavilion located on the 1st floor of the Sphere, the key facility of the exhibition, will also attract the attention of the visitors. The zone of insight into Kazakhstan will provide information about the culture, history, nature of the republic and the development strategies of the country. In the second zone of the pavilion called “Creative Energy” the best renewable projects of the national scientists will be presented.

A highly varied cultural and entertainment program will be offered to the guests. More than 3 thousand exciting memorable events have been planned. One of the key events will be a performance by Cirque du Soleil. A special REFLEKT show will be on from June 16 to September 10.
