Acquavillage Water Park in Italy Awarded Top Water Park by Parksmania

Istanbul, Turkey — Acquavillage Water Park in Cecina, Italy has been named Italy’s Best Water Park in 2011 by Parksmania.

Acquavillage Water Park added two family rides in 2011, contributing to the award. The new slide complex “INTRIGO” (Italian for intrigue) contains both a Family Rafting Waterslide and a Rafting Waterslide with a conveyor in-between. Acquavillage contracted Piscine Castiglione (Italy), the leading European Swimming Pool Company for the new additions while Polin (Turkey) supplied the waterslides. The waterslides in the park are produced by closed molded technology offering a superior finish on both sides with Polin’s patented Natural Light Effects technology applied to one slide.

The Parksmania Award ceremony is considered the most important ceremony of the Italian amusement sector. 2011 marked the tenth edition of the award ceremony, held on 10th of December 2011 at Gardaland. The owner of Acquavillage Water Park, Marcello Padroni, received the prize.

“AcquaVillage was particularly attentive to guests’ needs and market trends,” stated Parksmania’s judges. “They made a huge investment in the Cecina park through the realization of a double attraction, offering fun and entertainment both to families and adrenaline-lovers.”

Matteo Ferrarini, from Piscine Castiglione added, “The brand new FAMILY SLIDE “INTRIGO” has almost doubled the number of visitors in the season. The attraction is innovative (only a few other Italian parks have a family slide: Ondaland in Novara, Magic World in Neaples, and Aquafan in Riccione). Particular attention was given to the theming: the fiberglass has a natural brown and ivory finish, the tower has a wood roof and the splash pool is surrounded by palms and a nice theming. All these details give the park a fantastic ‘Caribbean’ atmosphere.”

Both rafting slides at Acquavillage start from a tower of 13 meters (42 feet). The Family Rafting Slide is 135 meters (443 feet) and the the Rafting Slide is 124 meters (407 feet). Both are produced by a closed molded production technology called Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) that leaves a superior shiny finish on both sides. Polin applied their unique Natural Light Effects within the enclosed parts of the Family Rafting slide. Family Rafting Slide features open and enclosed sections for 4-person rafts–offering fun for families to share. Rafting Slide is an opentube slide with an exciting ride experience. Riders can use it with single or double tubes. It is steeper, faster and offers a thrilling ride.
