A 300-acre theme park in India, Adlabs Imagica, is reportedly set to open the first of 3 phases in March 2013, between Mumbai and Pune on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Adlabs Imagica is the pet project of media and entertainment entrepreneur Manmohan Shetty and the flagship venture of Shetty’s company Adlabs Entertainment Limited (AEL), incorporated in January 2010.
According to AEL, Mr. Shetty, founder of Adlabs Films Limited (now known as Reliance Mediaworks Ltd, acquired by Reliance ADAG group in 2006), instigated conceptual design in 2007 with the formation of the parent holding company Thrill Park Limited.
Mr. Shetty is lauded as a pioneer of the Indian entertainment industry and active within the Film & Television Producers Guild of India and National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
