90% of Construction Complete on Astana EXPO 2017

A delegation from the International Specialized Exhibition Astana EXPO 2017 presented a detailed progress report in Paris.

“All construction works at the site are carried out on schedule. It should be pointed out that, at this stage of the preparation, 90% of construction works have already been completed,” said Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Chairman of the Board of National Company Astana EXPO-2017 at the 160th General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions in Paris.

He also reminded the audience that “the construction of pavilions for foreign participants has already been finished.” Thus, on October 31, the first five pavilions were handed over to the first five participating countries (France, Germany, Hungary, Turkey and China) for decoration.

As part of the preparations, it is planned to organize a large-scale road show across Europe in the spring of 2017 to present the exhibition abroad. Work is underway to attract volunteers, and a pool of 4,500 people has already been formed.

On December 10, 2016, six months before the opening of the exhibition, the offline sale of tickets will start and a Single Service Center will open on December 1. The Center will provide the necessary state services to EXPO 2017 visitors and participants.
