New Orleans, LA, USA — The Audubon Institute will be bringing two unique attractions to the Crescent City this Spring, “Cool Zoo” and “Animal Grossology.”
At the Audubon Zoo, “Cool Zoo,” opening March 31, is splash park that includes jumping water spouts, a 28 foot alligator water slide, a spider monkey soaker, bubbling fountains, water-spitting snakes and more. The attraction, returning for a second year, includes three different splash zones, with one area set aside especially for toddlers and younger kids.
“Cool Zoo” was designed in-house by the Audubon Nature Institute, with custom fixtures manufactured by WET Engineering.
At the Audubon Aquarium, visitors will experience some of the “stinkiest, slimiest and downright yukkiest creatures on Earth” in the new interactive exhibit “Animal Groosology,” which takes a slightly different view of the animal kingdom. Visitors will learn why cows chew cud, how snail slime could help treat cystic fibrosis, and why the dung beetle is nature’s original pooper scooper. This limited engagement exhibit opens February 28.
