On May 9, the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released its Considerations for Public Pools, Hot Tubs, and Water Playgrounds During COVID-19. The World Waterpark Association (WWA) encourages all members to read through these considerations carefully, as they will likely become the basis for reopening guidelines provided by local public health officials.
In addition, over the past few weeks, the WWA has worked closely with its partners within the CDC to amend their posted recommendations about visiting waterparks during COVID-19. Those posted guidelines have now been updated and waterparks are included in the section on safely using swimming pools and other water-related activities.
Both of these items are positive news for the waterpark industry and reflect the continuing effort being made by the WWA and its partners on behalf of its membership community.
