New Large Scale Marine Life Park Announced for China’s Hunan Province

Changsha, China (January 27, 2016) — Sand and Sea Marine Park Changsha is positioned as a “fusion of marine animal shows, performances and large-scale recreational facilities” as one integrated marine life park.  The park is planned to be similar in offerings and scale to Hong Kong Ocean Park, Chimelong Ocean Kingdom and Haichang Shanghai Polar Ocean World (under construction).

The new park was announced on January 25 by the Hunan Xiangjing District.

According to preliminary planning, the project will be divided into three key underwater world areas: polar regions, temperate zone and tropical zone. Exhibits exploring the underwater world will include: coral jellyfish, Arctic animals, beluga whales, penguins, whale sharks, a number of marine mammals, aquaculture, manatees, turtles, and rainforest animals.  There will be nine show venues, including a dolphin arena, the Comedy Theatre, giant screen cinema, 4D cinema, water show and stunt show. The park will also featurea roller coaster, space shuttle ride, submarines and other rides and attractions. The entire park will have a total construction area of about 100,000 square meters [about 24.5 acres].
