City Museum in St. Louis, Missouri, re-opened on June 17. Through June 28 it is offering two sessions per day: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at CityMuseum.org.
According to Rick Erwin, the Director of City Museum:
“In re-opening our doors, we promise to provide an enjoyable and safe experience. You will share in that experience through a commitment to social distancing, good hygiene, and mask-wearing (for those of you over the age of 9). Your personal safety and the safety and health of all those who visit City Museum depend on good hygiene practices and proper respiratory etiquette, including frequent handwashing, coughing or sneezing into your elbows, and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
“Once you get inside, you’ll still get to climb, slide, explore, and play. Some attractions that do not allow for social distancing will be closed. Climbers will be one-way, and all attractions and exhibits will operate under a queue. Every day, on top of our usual housekeeping staff, we will have 5 Clean Team members who are responsible for nothing but cleaning and sanitizing during and between each session, so you can get your adventure on without worry.
“I’m a parent, and I know how important (and difficult) it is to balance your kids’ happiness and education with ensuring their safety right now. We’ve made sure City Museum is a safe and exciting place to play. And for those of you who are opting to stay home for a little while longer, we get it. We’re going to continue producing live episodes of City Museum On Air and creating fun online events and Art City classes to keep you entertained. (Take it from me, they make great additions to your homeschool schedule.)”
