“Our visitors are often pleasantly surprised to find out something about Glenwood Springs they didn’t expect. In addition to being America’s ‘Most Fun Town,’ thanks to our many attractions and amenities, we’re home to Colorado Mountain College, a diverse college with many renowned programs,” said Marianne Virgili, president and CEO of the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association.
Similarly, Dr. Stan Jensen, president of Colorado Mountain College, sees the benefits of partnering with the town’s tourism promotion entity. “The third most common way that prospective students find out about our college is through visiting the area on vacation,” Jensen said. “This partnership lets us share resources to stretch our budgets even further, and the innovative visitor center reminds visitors they can stay here and attend a quality, affordable college, too.”
In addition to all the technology, colorful displays designed and manufactured by PG Exhibits in Aurora, Colorado, show visitors why Glenwood Springs continues to be a top destination for travel and education. The three-dimensional displays feature some of the town’s top activities, including swimming at the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, playing at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, cycling in Glenwood Canyon and skiing at Sunlight Mountain Resort.
Coming soon to the Glenwood Springs Visitor Center, the Colorado Mountain College ArtShare Gallery will open to the public in July. This new space will exhibit the work of visual artists, photographers and students. The gallery space will eventually open onto a pedestrian plaza where the new Garfield County Library is currently under construction. In the meantime, class is in session at the new Glenwood Springs Visitor Center; stop in to learn more about Glenwood Springs and Colorado Mountain College.
