Environmental Street Furniture partners with Italian designers on stands designed to protect staff and customers in COVID-19 era

Award-winning Northern Ireland-based Environmental Street Furniture (ESF) has partnered with designers in Italy, to bring to the market a product that will help businesses support and protect staff, visitors and clients.

The company has also secured a distribution partnership with a local company, Aktivora, that has a plant-based sanitizer that kills COVID-19, the first in the UK and Ireland to be certified to kill the coronavirus.

The idea for the Italian product came about after a conversation between Marco Vivan of The Italian Lab and Aalan Lowry, Managing Director of Environmental Street Furniture. The duo realized there was a gap in the market for a stand to hold all the accouterments needed in today’s COVID-19 society, from manual or automated hand sanitizers to gloves and bins.

In the very short time that the ‘Stand Up’ has been available, the product has seen great engagement according to Alan Lowry. “We’ve found the last few weeks very fast moving regarding this project. When Marco and I spoke, we knew that everything to date in this arena was made of plastic however, we wanted something sleek and befitting of its brand, as well as versatile and durable. The Stand Up, made of sheet metal and powder coated, does all of that.

“Currently available in black and white, the product can be customized to suit its environs and any brand. What is amazing is, within that short space of time, my colleague in Italy won an order from McDonalds in Italy for over 3,000 units. That’s remarkable!

“More recently, I’ve also just secured distribution partnership with Aktivora to supply their totally natural plant-based ingredient sanitizer across the UK and Ireland and to be used with the Stand Up. This is an outstanding product and I’m delighted to be able to assist in its distribution. Aktivora sanitizer is a potent prevention to COVID-19 and has passed every test it was given, and we know that it can stop this virus in its tracks – nothing survives on any surface it comes in contact with.”

“As we begin to think about life and business post-lockdown, I’m now able to launch these great products into the UK and Ireland and to my many other worldwide contacts. I believe that this striking product, along with this plant-based sanitizer which provides an impenetrable barrier against the virus, will be fitting for any retail brand, government organisation or large theme park.”

ESF supplies a range of customized street furniture and security products and is known for their award-winning exporting capabilities to over 26 countries globally and now can add the new ‘Stand Up’ to their product list.

Alan continued, “We have been very fortunate to deliver a number of projects across the world in recent years with our street, themed and solar powered products, and more recently our security products to some of our customers, which includes Disney, IMG Worlds of Adventure, Warner Brothers Park and Global Village. We are very hopeful that we will continue to operate as countries begin to open up post-lockdown, but in a world where COVID-19 still exists.”
